My Story
I LOVE SCENTSY!!
That is the long and short of it. Im going to take a few moments to tell you why Scentsy, Im not going to tell you why you should buy or why you should join as that is totally your decision.
Scentsy is the safe, flameless alternative to scented candles. The electric warmers plug into a mains supply and gently warm a food grade wax at a low temperature by a hot plate to release beautiful fragrances. By warming at such a low temperature there is no risk of burning materials, children or pets!
I had been a stay at home mum for the previous 2 years before I joined and as my daughter has a long term lung condition. I not only wanted to do something that fitted in with all her hospital admissions clinic appointments but I also was very cautious about anything that triggered a problem with her with inhalants.. She couldn't walk past a bbq or a smoker or even a bit of hairspray without it triggering her airways to tighten so as you can imagine to bring 80 different scents into the house was scary. Once I learnt that they only released fragrance into the air and nothing else I gave it a go. They are the only thing that has no effect what so ever on her. BINGO! I was hooked.
I knew how successful Scentsy was in the US and once I heard it was coming to the UK I got very excited. To be in this launch from the beginning was amazing to watch it spread, I have since made lots of amazing friends through this and I love all the support and genuine thrill we get from Scentsy. I also love the generosity and ethics the company have...something thats very important to me.
So this is whats happening now....I am now going into 13 years with the business and I seriously can't believe its been that long! Life really does fly by when youre having fun! Im still blown away that I have around 4000 people within my global team that are doing the same as me.... loving the business and helping others to achieve their dreams and create a better lifestyle for themselves.
Scentsy has expanded into France, Spain, Austria, Mexico and Australia and new Zealand! I am ALWAYS looking for help, the business has grown so much I cant keep up with the demand!
I am LOVING every single minute of this journey. My team are stretched as far as Scotland to Plymouth and locally near to me in The Midlands. It makes no difference how far away or close in location they are to me as we are a TEAM that COMMUNICATE, SUPPORT and have FUN together. Thats the greatest part of this for me...seeing my team bond together and become friends as they support each other. Every achievement they reach is a thrill for me.
My ethos as a leader is to recognise the needs of each team member ...not everybody wants to grow a team, some consultants want to just do it as a hobby and fit it around their life, others want to soar to the top and build teams of their own. I make sure those that want to develop their leadership skills are encouraged and trained to do this and those that only want motivating to look for sales or ideas get what is needed for themselves. Im not into pressurising..thats what works so well with our team. We have an amazing team that works together. Nobody is better than anyone else and we all pull on each others strengths to support one another. I love my team Team Angels Global
In 2013 at the Scentsy annual convention I was awarded the Shining Star for UK and Europe. This award is a very prestigious award and I am very humbled that I was nominated for it. It's not awarded for sales or recruits but it's nominated by our peers in consultants for the core values of Scentsy...these being Simplicity, Authenticity and Generosity. There is only one Shining Star award each year. After all these years I still feel humbled that I was awarded it.
What has Scentsy helped me do?...
I achieved several incentive awards that Scentsy has offered and travelled to many places with them on 5 star free trips Ive earned. Places like Mexico, Cancun, several cruises, New York, Cyprus, Greece and Rome. Anyone can earn these with the right support. Scentsy really know how to reward their consultants! The sky really is the limit with doing Scentsy for me...I cant wait to see where'd how my life changes each year, but for now Im loving the product, loving the support, loving the building of my team....and the thrill!
In 2014 I was diagnosed with stage 3 grade 111 breast cancer. It was the most devastating thing of my life. Im now finsished my chemotherapy, radiotherapy and had a double mastectomy. Ive had so much support from Scentsy and my direct team that its enabled me to continue with my business while I was ill. I have now promoted to Superstar Director...the highest title within the company that anyone can achieve. Im still amazed at this and want to pinch myself every day. I could never have continued with working and growing a business through all this if it wasnt for Scentsy. I am still astounded at how only a few years of doing something I love has given me a sustainable successful business. I want to share this opportunity with so many people because I know if I can do this then anyone can!
My latest step Ive taken is I now have moved to my home to the countryside. My husband no longer works and is my Scentsy delivery boy. Without Scentsy we could never have achieved any of this and our future is now secured. We have a golden retriever dog called Bonnie who is my constant companion...Princess Bonnie goes everywhere with me! My life has turned full circle in the past 13 years...All I want is the simple life, to go away in my caravan, take Bonnie on endless walks and live the life Ive created with Scentsy.
